Earn LEED Credits

EKLA HOME UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE
and LEED CREDITS

The LEED Green Building Rating Systemâ„¢ is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. LEED ( acronym for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certifies buildings, homes, neighborhoods and systems based on credits obtained in the following categories: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovation and design process.

There are four levels of certification based on the amount of credits a building earns. The categories and criteria are extensive. The USGBC website has all of the information you would ever want to read about. New LEED categories and programs are developing continually.

Due to the completely non-toxic ingredients, recycled steel, FSC-certified wood and rapidly renewable materials, our upholstered furniture collection can potentially qualify for LEED points for commercial and residential interiors, whether new construction or a major renovation to an existing building. The pieces would qualify under Materials and Resources as well as under Indoor Environmental Quality.
